Religion is a veritable tool for national growth and development. It has contributed to the socio-political and economic development of Nigeria. But the negative influence bought by ignorant men and women is the lacuna between performance and failures. In this work we examined some themes in the bible, like who betrayed Jesus Christ, who did the serpent deceived? And some examples of religious crises in Nigeria and bring to the fall the misconception of present day religious leaders. And finally posit that, the ignorant of religious leaders and that of their followers have contributed to the problem religion has dragged us into!
